What leaves your Mac

Call audio never leaves your Mac. When you press, a short text excerpt goes straight to Anthropic under your own key. Nothing goes to the author, who runs no servers in the path.

Two presses on a call, from the FEASE film.

The detail

On the Mac

FEASE keeps the last two minutes of the call in memory, your microphone and the call's audio separately. Older audio falls off the end and nothing is written to a file.

When you press, that window is transcribed on your Mac by NVIDIA Parakeet, with Silero VAD to tell when someone is speaking. Your deck is searched on the CPU with the MiniLM and bge-reranker models through ONNX Runtime. The models download once, the first time the app starts, about 1.7 GB in all.

Today the app's own log on the Mac holds transcript text. Before release, the log you can send for help will leave transcript text out unless you choose to include it.

Your key, your bill

About $0.005 to $0.007, billed to you by Anthropic
Audio, and nothing to the author

You create your own Anthropic API key, and FEASE keeps it in the macOS Keychain. Each press is billed to that key, about $0.005 to $0.007 on the current model. Setting a spend limit on the key in the Anthropic console is a good idea.

One thing to know before you start. A key you create yourself does not come with any data-processing terms between your company and Anthropic. If your company needs those, arrange them with Anthropic first, or wait for the company version.

How the panel hides from screen share

The panel is a macOS window marked to be left out of screen capture. This is a documented macOS setting, the same one password managers use to keep their windows out of screenshots. It doesn't hide FEASE from you. The app is in your Dock and your Applications folder like any other.

In our tests, with the entire screen shared on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, the other side did not see the panel. That is a test result, not a promise. Apple does not guarantee that every capture method respects the setting.

Not tested yet: call recordings, local or in the cloud.

Consent is yours to handle

In some places, everyone on a call has to agree before it is transcribed. FEASE shows a one-time acknowledgement about this when you set it up on your own.

You are responsible for following the rules where you and the other people on the call are.

When it doesn't know

Nothing cleared the confidence floor. Bring SE in.

Every answer comes from your own deck, which you build and review. Each card the model picks is scored, and a card below the confidence floor is never shown. You see "Bring SE in." instead.

With a company server

The same panel, whichever way the press is routed. A frame from the FEASE film.

The company version routes differently. A rep's press goes to the company's own FEASE server, which it runs in its own Fly.io or AWS account, and from there to Anthropic under the company's key. Reps never hold that key.

The server also keeps the questions the deck could not answer, so the deck can be improved, and sends deck updates down to each rep's Mac. Audio still never leaves the Mac, and nothing goes to the author. More on the company version
